Old to astronomy, 4 years AP, new to SCP. Will the plate solving feature in SCP work with a Dobsonian mount? I have the syscan ASCOM driver for the dob and it seems to work fine with the SCOM panel.
Robin, btw, great great program. I am a former SW eng and I am impressed with this program.

Hi,
yes, it should work – the tricky things with plate solving seem to be getting the plate solving engine installed correctly with the correct indices and making sure roughly the right number of stars detected (too few stars and it just won't work, too many and it may take a long time).
