How do I tell SC where the ASTAP index files are.

you shouldn't need to – as long as Astap knows where it's index files are then SharpCap should be fine.

I am able to run ASTAP independently. Under setup Plate Solve I have ASTAP as prefered solver and "Detect Automatically" is selected. When I click Tools>Plae Solve it thinks a second and gives error msg. Can't find file: "C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\Temp\long string\frame.log

Hi,

the first log is the sort that I want, but unfortunately the one you've attached just shows the progress of SharpCap through its start-up code and doesn't show anything to do with attempting to plate solve. What you need to do is to run SharpCap and make the problem happen and then capture the log after you've done that.
