ASI 1600MM Mono Cooled Thermal Noise

#1

Post by c172jeff »

I watched a video and am trying to calculate how much I must cool my camera given my light pollution. The video says to aim for about 10% of the light pollution e/pixel/s. I cannot find any information regarding the thermal noise of the ASI 1600MM Mono Cooled Thermal Noise. The sensor is the Panasonic MN34230. Does anyone have this information. This video by the author of SharpCap says to aim for 10% and had a graph for various sensors that showed cooled temperature and electrons/pixel. I cannot find anything for the asi 1600mm.
Please help,
Jeff

Hi,

the manufacturers have a graph for that here - https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/pr ... 600mm-cool . Look down the page to the dark current graph.

Thank you, I actually just noticed that graph some time after posting. I did have it on hand, just did not see that section.
