Hi there, beginner here
Just wondering when I attach my Canon 450d it then auto snaps constantly. Is there a simple way to turn this off!?

Not currently, no. I have plans for an option for SharpCap to work in a 'still camera' mode in the next major version which will only take images on request, but in the current version behaving like a video camera is the only option.
