OTA or no?

#1

Post by dtastro »

A couple of questions about an Altair Astro 183C Pro TEC osc camera

1) Does the camera have to be attached to an scope to do a sensor analysis indoors?

2) Can, or should, the histogram measurements be done with a filter attached e.g. quadband or Light Pollution filter

1) The sensor analysis can be carried out on the bench in daylight - do it for RAW8 and RAW12/16 - or MONO8 and MONO12/16.

2) With filters, re-measure the sky brightness with each filter.

Thanks...done the main camera. Is it possible to do another camera...does SC remember the settings for each camera when you come to do measure in the histogram?

User acquired measurements are stored in C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\SharpCap\SensorCharacteristics

Installed measurements are stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\SharpCap 3.2\SensorLibrary

The measurements are stored in .json files - can be opened in a text editor.

Just keep adding them - every camera manufacturer will have a new range of models at some time so the software is built to accommodate this.

Appreciated.

For completeness, the user acquired measurements can be copied to another PC/laptop.
