So I did a search of the forum and I looked through the manual and could not find anyway to turn of the preview function. Why turn it off? Seems kind of silly to have the camera constantly taking pics non stop the second you connect to the camera. Should be a way to turn this on and off at will?

Currently SharpCap works like a video camera in that it takes images all the time while you are connected to the camera but only records them when you have asked it to. In a future version there will be the option to switch into a still camera mode which will take images only when requested.
