Hey

I have a question about the exposure gain calculator. I have a zwo1600mmc Mono cam. when trying to find the best exposure and gain settings. Do i use the filters lrgb and narrow band when pointing the scope at dark sky?.

Cheers

Hi Andy,

Yes, you use the filter that you intend to image with when taking a measurement of the sky brightness since using a colour filter will reduce the background brightness by a factor of about 3 and using a narrowband filter will reduce it a lot more than that – both of those will lead to longer predicted exposures.
