Plate Solving

#1

Post by roelb »

Is it possible to have 2 "ASCOM-connections" at the same time with the same mount?
eg. I have to manage "object-GoTo's" with a planetary program (ASCOM connected).
And, at the same time, the plate solver should also synced with the mount.
I think that it doesn't work.

At the moment I use TheSkyX to plate solve an image taken with the camera.
But I must leave SharpCap before TheSkyX can connect to the camera.
What I'm missing is a button within SharpCap that allows to disconnect the camera connection.
Under the Camera menu their is an option to reconnect but none to disconnect.

Thanks in advance replying.

Hi Roel,

it is possible to close the camera by re-selecting it from the menu while it is active - see http://docs.sharpcap.co.uk/2.9/#Available%20Cameras. Maybe this is not the most obvious way of doing it :)

Many ASCOM mounts do allow multiple connection (eg EQMOD), others can sometimes be used via an ASCOM hub driver to allow multiple connections.

cheers,

Robin

Thanks David for your prompt reply!
To support SharpCap development I paid for the Pro version, although I actually don't need any of the Pro features.
I wish you all the best with the development.
