Please forgive me if I missed this somewhere but is it possible for the plate solve and sync to also sync the time of the PC to the mount or at least give me the option to sync it.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Re: Time Sync from PC to Mount
Hi,
in the latest versions of SharpCap 4.1, SharpCap will check the mount time when connecting and show a warning if the mount time and PC time differ by more than 60 seconds. With the warning, you would get an option to try to set the mount time from the PC time.
However, that working depends on the mount ASCOM driver reporting the mount time via the ASCOM UTCDate property (https://ascom-standards.org/Help/Develo ... TCDate.htm). In theory, all ASCOM drivers *should* do that, since that's what the specification says, but I suspect that there are quite a few that just report the PC time, in which case the reported time would match the PC time as checked by SharpCap...
cheers,
Robin

Re: Time Sync from PC to Mount
I know that Celestron CPWI will sync the time on demand... I have never been asked I want the time synced. So I wonder what the Celestron ASCOM driver does...
Here is what I found in Profile Explorer look at the last line:

Re: Time Sync from PC to Mount
Hi,
unfortunately it's really the details of how the ASCOM driver code implements the time read/set operation that is key here, not the settings. I have a celestron mount and handset I can test with CPWI to see if it reports PC time or mount time, and whether setting the time via ASCOM has any effect.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Time Sync from PC to Mount
Hi,
I just did a test with CPWI and my Nexstar SE mount. It looks like CPWI bypasses the normal handset time/date routines (the handset display changes to 'BOOT LOADER Serial Pass Through'. CPWI also seems to report the current PC time via the ASCOM driver, so it looks like the CPWI software already uses the PC time for all of its calculations/configuration. It doesn't look like there is a way to update the remembered time in the handset memory (the one that gets used when you use the handset manually).
cheers,
Robin
