simplistic dithering

Post by soulearth »

Hi,
Dither is often associated with a feature used with autoguiding.
However, without having autoguiding, if sharpcap could pause stacking every X frames, slightly shift the mount with the ascom commands, and resume stacking (like manual dithering.), This could improve the quality of the image ( a small movement once every 15 minutes would be sufficient. )

Best regards,

Hello,
Great ! It's exactly that.
How often is the motion command sent? Is it configurable?
On a small mount like my eqm-35, it would even be better if it wasn't too often.

Hi,

yes, it's configurable - either in the Live Stacking 'guiding' section or when using the Deep Sky sequence planner.

cheers,

Robin
