Camera temperature in the darks file name

#1

Post by soulearth »

Hello,

The classification of darks file is very precise with one folder per camera and one folder per exposure time.
However, in order to be able to reuse the darks, it would be useful to have the camera temperature in the filename. There are a lot of cameras that don't have a peltier and in this case you need several dark files at different sensor temperatures for the same camera and exposure.

Having the sensor temperature in the filename would be sufficient.

Hi,

SharpCap 3.2 already does this when you use the Capture Dark menu option - the sensor temperature goes into the filename as you can see below:

If you are capturing dark frame manually then you can use the {Temperature} tag in the advanced filename templates to put the sensor temperature into the filenames of all captured files.

Hello.
Thank you for this quick response. Is the feature enabled by default? Because it doesn't work for me. I use sharpcap 3.2.

Hi,

interesting - there appears to be a bug with this in 3.2 that means it works with ZWO cameras, but not Altair. This is already fixed in SharpCap 4.0 (which is in beta now and will be going live in a couple of weeks).

Hi,
Okay. The solution is therefore to use version 4. Can I have both version ( v3.2 and v4 ) installed on the same pc ?
As version 4 is still in beta, having both versions may be more secure.

Thank you for your help,

Hi,

yes, you can have both intalled at once - even run both at once (just not talking to the same camera/hardware!)

cheers,

Hi,
I checked. All is good, the version 4 corrects the problem.
