An interface color scheme to not lose dark adaptation

#1

Post by abillionnewstars »

When using SC for Live Stacking, it is nearly impossible to keep dark adaptation as the interface is way too bright. This is very problematic when doing outreach. Everyone is asked not to use a flashlight nor their cellphone and there you are, ruining the rule you established.
SC really needs a scheme for changing its color interface!

Hi

SC has a dark mode. Just click View in the menu bar and choose Night Vision Colors. SC will then be mostly black with orange characters.

In addition to SC's dark mode most laptops have a readily accessible screen brightness control. And even in dark mode I find myself dropping screen brightness from 70% to 6%, if only to reduce light levels around the dome shutter opening.

Just to add that the F12 key on the keyboard is a shortcut to toggle dark mode on/off.

There are sometimes some glitches in the UI if you turn dark mode off and keep running SharpCap (Orange text still in some areas).

cheers,

The F12 shortcut is awesome! I had looked for this on the website but could not find it. I am glad I have it now.

Thanks

I don't have a "view" option in v3.2.

Hi,

the 'View' menu is new in SharpCap 4.0 to hold things like switching dark mode on/off and similar. F12 is your best bet in SharpCap 3.2

Why not saying it was only in version 4.0??
