FITS Specifications

Post by astrnmr »

Would it be possible to have SC save the FITS information when conducting Livecapture such as camera, pixel size, scope, etc....?

Would this also mean that Astrotortilla and/or ASPS would be able to manage solve FITS files from a MONO (well, my QHY5III290) source? Or is this perhaps a bug not investigated? Both apps fail after converting and reading the image.

Guessing FOCALLEN would be difficult to fill unless manually entered or retrieved from ASCOM.
### Hardware
Computer: Windows 10 Pro (x64) on a Intel Pentium J2900 with 8GB RAM.
Cameras: QHY5III290 + ASI224MC cameras over USB 3.
Mount: iOptron Minitower + HEQ5 Pro SynScan
Accessories: DIY focuser w/ tempsensor, DIY filterwheel

Since SharpCap is getting used more and more for Deep Sky Objects, I would like to propose to implement the following headers (all readily available in SharpCap).

Code: Select all

OBJECT = 'M27 '       / Target Description
RA: (Mandatory) Right ascension in degrees (not hours) (i.e. 225.211545)
DEC: (Mandatory) Declination in degrees (i.e. -53.25664)

Cameras: QHY5III290 + ASI224MC cameras over USB 3.
Mount: iOptron Minitower + HEQ5 Pro SynScan
