Hi
That's a terrific image. Well done. Interested to know how many frames you needed and about how long?
thanks

Re: MARS using 5X focal extender
Hi Tim,
I exposed the image for 2.5 minutes at approximately 120 frames per second giving me about 18,000 frames. I took 50% of that total in AutoStakkert3 which yielded 9,000 frames. The QHY5IIIColor is a very fast frame rate CMOS camera with a large 5.86 micron pixel size which is useful for planetary imaging.

Thanks Rick,
Useful to know. Well maybe next year I'll buy a suitable powermate or Barlow and have a go at some planetary work. Apart from one tiny picture of Mars that's all new territory for me
