The Bubble Nebula (NGC 7635, Sharpless 162, Caldwell 11)

My DSO camera is still at the dealer for a check, so playing with Zwo ASI385MC planet camera.
This is also unguided. I did 240 second exposures at f/7 (focal length 1470 mm). The Ioptron CEM25EC mount really keeps on rocking.
Polar alignment though has to be really dead on, so the Ioptron Ipolar polar alignment camera is doing its job really good.

Bortle 7/8
Meade LX200 8" f/10 ACF OTA
Ioptron CEM25EC mount (no guiding)
Optolong L-eNhance filter
Optec Lepus Standard 0,62x reducer
Zwo ASI385MC planet camera

Captured with SharpCap Pro
53 x 240 sec / Gain 120 / Offset 15 / White balance R50 B50

Stacked in DeepSkyStacker

Processed in SiriL and Photoshop
SiriL: photometric color calibration
Photoshop: levels, curves, noise reduction (Neat Image plugin), HLVG green reduction, star reduction.

Hi all and happy New Year! (for those in the US sadly Happy 2020 Again :? )

Been not here for a long time, so here an update (plus a bump for this capture that for now is my best one).
I have my new Zwo ASI071MC Pro now for over 4 weeks ... but no clear skies what so ever. It is becoming a very very long autumn :(
So when it comes to astro stuff I am bored out off my mind :P

Hi Menno,

sorry to hear that you have had so little clear sky - the image above does look remarkably like a bubble (for once a nebula that looks like it's name!). Well done on capturing that image, and keep safe!

cheers,

Robin

Indeed! Although it really is in the abstract realm: on other forums people see a skull in it :)

Thanks! And it is unguided, the mount (with some tweaking) can track immensely accurate, even with long focal lengths.

Hi Menno, nice bubble I know the feeling the weather here has been awful as well no clear nights since October got excited Christmas eve as it was forecast to be clear which it was looking good for then it went misty. Hopefully you get to use the new camera soon, I have the ASI2600MC Pro and am really itching to have a go at the the horsehead as Alnitak was an issue with my ASI1600 and micro lensing but the sky is definitely not playing ball.

Cheers
Nick
