Silver Sliver Galaxy (NGC 891, Caldwell 23)

My cooled camera is still for a check at the dealer, so "playing" with my non-cooled Zwo ASI385MC planetary camera. Had a go at NGC 891 and considering the camera, I really like the result, despite being it a bit grainy and "color blobbed".
And again (or like usual) amazed by the Ioptron CEM25EC mount: this is 120 seconds non-guided with a focal length of 1440 mm, making my scope around f/7 with the reducer.
Have to keep an eye on it since the tracking rate at the zenith is different then, lets say, 70 degrees. I have to manually adjust the sidereal tracking then but for me that's part of the whole fun experience smile.gif

The Silver Sliver Galaxy (NGC 891, Caldwell 23) is an edge-on, unbarred spiral galaxy in Andromeda. It's at 30 million light years distance and has a radius of 60,000 light years, making it bigger then the Milkyway which as a radius of 53,000 light years.
It has an apparent size of 13′.5 × 2′.5 and has a apparent mag of 10,5.

Nice, clear image- Menno. And 120s subs with no guiding. That is impressive. I can't get that on my AP1100 mount unless I build a point model.

Thanks Bruce!
And yes, the mount rocks. With the cooled camera which gives a bigger FOV, I can go easily go to 3 minutes. I tried 5 minutes and that even worked but is of no use due to Bortle 7/8 :(
