The Pacman Nebula in Hubble Palette captured using 300 subs for 6 hrs on an 80mm APO triplet with Chroma NB filters and the ZWO ASI294mm Pro.

Cool capture!
Andromeda is here slowly emerging behind the roof, so it's on my to-do list :)

Thanks, Menno.

Agree- I have Andromeda next on my list, too but we have another hurricane heading our way next week so it will have to wait.

Great!

Did you use 120s for each filter and same number of frames?

I'd have to dig out my PacMan from last year. If I remember correctly I had a difficult time picking up signal with SII so I decided to use just Ha and OIII data. I used the HOO palette.

It looks like you've got equal amounts of Ha and OIII in 90% of the nebula. That's why it is predominantly cyan.

Bruce,

Your AstroBin says:

Chroma Ha 5nm: 30x300" (gain: 120.00) -10C bin 1x1
Chroma OIII 3nm: 20x300" (gain: 120.00) -10C bin 1x1
Chroma SII 3nm: 22x300" (gain: 120.00) -10C bin 1x1

So I think you've got a typo in your original post. 300s subs makes more sense.

How did you decide on the frame counts? Software?

Nice image that is one I have never tried so may well give it ago at some point but might buy an Optolong L-Enhance, L-Pro or L-Extreme first still weighing the options. Also fancy ago at Andromeda but means I need to get my ass into gear and sort the back spacing for the ASI2600MC and the Massimo Riccardi 0.75x reducer and even then M31 will not quite fit also read something that said to put filters in front of reducers to reduce risk of reflection the thing has M82 threads so they can forget that doubt I could afford a filter that size even if they make one.

Keep up the good images and good luck with the hurricane.

Cheers

Thanks much, Nick. Yes- another hurricane  .

Brian- you are correct, sir!! My error which I corrected. I simply estimated frame count based on what others have done, my estimated number of bad frames to delete, and hours I have available to image due to weather. So, I at least was a fair number of all 3 wavelengths to start with and see what I get. I just did the Bubble et al in HOO with a handful of frames but it came out ok and will post soon. Hopefully, after next weeks storm, I will have many clear nights in the fall and winter to get a lot of more images done.
