Messier 16 The Eagle Nebula

This is not easy for me. Very low in the horizon and only seeable about 2 hours a night along dodging the neighbors tall trees. Despite this, M16 is a favorite of mine and I never get tired at looking at the columns of creation. I plan to do a close-up of the columns as a Hubble palette soon if weather permits.

Thanks guys. Always a favorite target despite its location. I still remember the first images of the Pillars from the Hubble Telescope when they were made public. I also remember, not sure if you do, there were actually complaints, at least in the US press, that NASA had tricked everyone because the colors were not real. NASA had to explain what false colors were and why they are used.....sigh.

Nice image I tried it last year and like you only get a few hours with it very low in the sky and also suffer with sky glow as it sits over Cheltenham / Gloucester and Bristol for me during those two hours.
Cheers
