Reprocessed M27 with a twist

I've been reading more (always a dangerous thing) about extracting Ha data from OCS cameras that use a narrowband filter. In this case, the L-eNhance duo band filter for Ha and OIII. I extracted the red channel which primarily contains Ha data and made it the luminance channel, doing image sharpening and noise reduction. Then I individually stretched the RGB channels and recombined them with the created luminance channel. The result is the image here: the blue/red version vs. the previous green/red version. Personally, I think this version is a little more pleasing as it gets rid of some of the stark harness of the L-eNhance "look".

I love the "balance" you've achieved with this image . I think if we could see it with our own eyes , it would look very close to what you've shown , here . Very , very inspiring 🙂
