Captured 13 May, 2019. Full res image here https://www.astrobin.com/full/408040/0/?nc=user.

Celestron C8, QHY5LII-M with IR cut filter.
SharpCap MONO8, 1280x960, SER 5000 frames, 14fps.
Camera - exposure 6ms, gain 5, offset 1.
Autostakkert 3 - 900 alignment points, stack best 40%, used _conv.tif output file. After running Analyse, 40% of the frames had a quality rating of 60% or better. Hence 40% of the frames were stacked.

Thanks Wickett. I think I have turned the corner now with lunar imaging as I am consistently avoiding having burnt out crater rims.
  • focusing zoomed in to > 100%
  • use of the 'over exposed' FX tool
  • use of IR cut/IR685/#25 red filter
Hands-off focusing with a JMI MotoFocuser also helps with the C8 SCT scope.
