Equipment: Vixen 81s, Celestron AVX mount, Atik 314E, Teleskop LRGB filters & filter tray. Unguided.
Software: SharpCap 3.2, Fits Liberator; SiriL, GIMP.
L: 60x60s bin 1x1, 100 bias, 60 darks, 60 flats.
RGB: 60x20s, bin 3x3, 100 bias, 60 darks, 60 flats.
See https://starizona.com/tutorial/color-imaging-3/ Binned-Color LRGB section. The bin 3x3 enables reduction of RGB exposures to 1/3 of the L exposure and maintain colour balance.
The image processing software Siril has an option for RGB Compositing.
This was my first serious attempt at LRGB imaging. The information from the Starizona website seems to hold up. I think the effect of the filters will require longer exposures (and guiding) for best results.
I have some red fringing to the left hand side of some stars to the upper left, which will mean a reprocess of the data to find out what is happening and to learn how to use the RGB compositing tool. https://free-astro.org/siril_doc-en/#RGB_Compositing
