Ring Nebula - experimenting.

Post by Neil »

Hi All,

This is a crude image of the Ring Nebula in Lyra (Camera settings below).

https://flic.kr/p/Uv756e

178MM@Prime, 150PDS. There was significant amp glow on the bottom corners an top right, this has virtually gone thanks to the darks.

Only 2x67s exposures + 2 darks generated by Sharpcap, just to see how it works. I like the way the darks are organised into folders against camera, exposure, etc. Robin, Would it be possible to organise them according to temperature as well? It would be a fantastically easy way to build up a darks library on cloudy nights.

Hi Neil,

nice image - glad the dark subtraction is working well for you :)

I did implement temperature subdivision in the darks folders and as far as I can see the code is still there - I will test with a ZWO camera later this evenng to see if anything has gone amiss.

cheers,

Robin
