Cheers Robin. Thanks for all your blunt off-line comments/suggestions over the past year which have helped me to progress.
The image below is from September 2016. A good example of what can be achieved with an unbalanced scope, poor polar alignment, poor focus and no idea what any of the SharpCap camera controls actually mean/do. Plus I wasn't paying attention to the shape of the histogram or scrutinising the max/min image statistics in a single frame in FITS Liberator before commencing a run back then.
To anyone starting out and at the stage below (it is M31 - honest), I would say persistence is the key and do pay attention to the phrases above in italics
