I have two scopes currently, Altair 480 triplet and a 105M vixen 1000mm. Altair 183C imaging cam
I use an Altair 60mm guide and 290M cam to polar align now but considering an OAG for guiding.
The FOV for the 480 and 183C isnt much different than the guide scope setup so assume i should be able to polar align via that?
The vixen would be less but if reasonably close to alignment would that work from the 183C?
I really like the polar align feature so would not wish to lose that by moving to an OAG.
Thanks Rob

Re: Using the imaging scope to polar align?
Hi,
yes, the 480mm and the 183C should work nicely. The longer F/L might work if the field of view is at least half a degree in each direction - certainly worth a try. Others have had some success with a cheap 0.5x reducer.
cheers,
Robin
