Thank you Brian and Robin.
I’m not sure how to check the Dec setting on the new CEM70 mount The clutch lock allows disengagement for balancing but no way to get the saddle exactly straight other than by eye as far as I know so far.I’ll figure it out. I hope I just have to use the hand control and be sure to move the scope to Ioptron’s “0” position after balancing and before starting the SC PA routine.

The main thing I hearing above is that if SC says alignment is excellent, I can trust that it is…even if I never saw the complete target of NCP.

Hi Gary,

on the subject of getting the home position (dec=90, etc) correct, long ago I made marks on my mount body using this tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fO6hyYtPwM) so that I can easily go back to home by unlocking the clutches and twisting until the marks line up. Basically you use a spirit level to find the right position with the mount on a flat surface. About 8min30 into the video for the dec axis.
