Polar align error not stable

#1

Post by Perrywarburton »

Hi I’m really hoping someone can help me!
When I’m doing my polar alignment I can get it to a excellent state, say 0.2 but it will jump around from 0.2 to 0.10 and sometimes it jumps from excellent to good.
Is there something I’m not doing right or is this due to seeing conditions?
I’d really like to get the polar alignment stable so I can get it as excellent as possible. Say 0.0 would be good.
I’ll be putting my mount on a pier soon so I’d like to get this working.
It’s driving me mad because I just don’t know how good the alignment is.
Any help would be great.
Cheers.

Hi,

First check if any of the hints on the polar alignment troubleshooting page help – https://www.sharpcap.co.uk/sharpcap/fea ... leshooting .

If none of that helps then please tell us a bit more about your setup (camera, scope, settings you're using, etc)

Thanks, Robin
