Does the 300mm guide scope have to be aligned with the main 500mm imaging scope for plate solve polar align? How far off can the guide scope be off from main scope for polar align to work? Thanks.

Hi,
Exact alignment isn't necessary – as long as the alignment is within a few of degrees or so then there will be no appreciable error due to the misalignment. If you have the guide scope pointing off 10 or 20° to the side then it may not work
