hey all,
I know this is an easy question, but as we haven't had a clear night for the past 5-6 days been unable to check.
I use a skywatcher st80 for a guidescope, now that's quite a bit bigger FOV and the 200mm recommended size, so will P.A still work or will I be better ordering an altair astro 50-60mm one?
cheers for time n reply
guide scope size
Re: guide scope size
It will depend on what guide camera you're using too, pixel size will effect the fov.

Re: guide scope size
Yes, pop your scope and camera setup into a FOV calculator like this one http://www.skyatnightmagazine.com/field-view-calculator. If it comes out at at least 0.5 degrees in both directions then you should be OK. Any less than this is iffy, but is probably worth a try before spending money on a guidescope.
