Digital Gain

#1

Post by pjwack »

HI-
I have read where increasing the digital gain can effect the alignment accuracy.
Does this mean that it's potentially harder to find alignment and/or that the stacked image will be negatively effected?
thanks

Hi,

Digital gain is purely a tool to help find enough stars to align if that is proving difficult. If you can detect plenty of stars without digital gain then don't use it, as it certainly will not improve accuracy in that circumstance!

Digital gain doesn't affect image that is added to the stack at all - just the dection of stars.

cheers,

Robin
