Re: Combine Goto Co-ordinate with Goto Image

Hi Don, well really the two are for different purposes... Goto Image will do it's best to reframe exactly as captured in a previous session, including rotation if you have a rotator and offsetting the target if you have done so for framing reasons. You cannot just do that from the catalog, as at bes...

Re: A different flat option for IMX294 based camera owners

Hi, on the subject of the Bin1 mode, I only have experience with other manufacturer cameras, where I have seen the same problem with failure to generate a saturated image when overexposed at low gains. The same test - massively overexpose and check that all pixels hit maximum brightness will work to...

Re: 4.1 bugs

Hi,

no, the speed picked by SharpCap should be unconnected to the handset configuration (at least that's the way ASCOM drivers are supposed to work - SharpCap says move the mount at 0.25 degrees per second, and that's what should happen... in theory).

cheers,

Robin

Re: Previous focus setting

Hi, just to check that I am understanding correctly, that is to go back to the original position in the case of a failed autofocus, yes? Actually the 'Refocus' sequencer step includes that functionality, but the more basic 'autofocus between X and Y' steps do not. It would make sense to have all of ...

Re: A different flat option for IMX294 based camera owners

Hi, yes, it's not entirely simple to follow what is going on... I'm afraid I won't be putting together a diagram, but will do my best to explain... There are two things you can change on the 294 sensor (and the 492 mono version) to affect the gain 1) An analog gain control which can go from 0 to at ...

Re: Images don't save with MGEN3

Hi Larry, not something I've heard of before. Can you find the SharpCap log from the affected session? It will be saved on disk and you can find the folder by running SharpCap, going to 'Help' then 'Show Log' then pressing the 'Locate on Disk' button. You can check the times of the files (and the na...

Re: ZWO AM5 mount

Hi Mark, I'm not aware of anyone specifically using the AM5 with SharpCap yet (no posts here on the forums), which probably means it works just fine, since if it didn't then we'd have seen people posting here... Device hub's whole purpose is to allow sharing of a device between multiple applications...

Re: Lunar ADC adjustment tool

Hi, thanks, makes sense regarding the problems with moving from a somewhat distant star to the target throwing off both the rotation and dispersion amount of the ADC. I'm not quite understanding how the super-pixel idea could work unless you can fit the whole of the moon inside the box, which would ...

Re: A different flat option for IMX294 based camera owners

Hi, yes, you have definitely got some indication of failure to saturate caused (I believe) by the analog gain being outside the range recommended by Sony for using HCG mode. It's not as bad as you tend to see on the mono version of the camera at gain 120, or as I have seen on other brands of camera ...

Re: Basler camera max fps with ROI

Hi, thanks for posting this bug report - I will dig into it and see what I need to do to fix the issues. One of the difficulty with Basler cameras is that there are a wide range of cameras and it is difficult to be sure in advance which controls will always be available and which are only available ...
