Re: Brain giving strange results

I'm interested too... Asi294: my brain suggests gain 121 and 15 sec....but if you use those settings, almost nothing appears. And even if you do a strong strecthing to the histogram, very few signal comes out. So i think something in the brain doesn't work properly... I repeated the sensor analysis ...

Use only flat correction: impossible??

While i was experimenting out the effectiveness of dark and flat, i found that using only flat frame caused an error. If i want to apply just flat frame correction (and not dark frame correction), it isn't possible. I show you my 3 final stacked image examples Dark, no flat. Yes dark_noflat.jpg Dark...

Re: Flats and mottling pattern in final stacked image

Thanks Robin for your useful tips. Before reading your message, i was out to try different live stacking with and without flat frame. I took flat frame at gain 200...and everything was perfect. Live stacking went smooth, flat applied correctly, and final stacked image was perfect. No more problems. ...

Re: Flats and mottling pattern in final stacked image

I've read all on the web about flats and how to do them properly, also your topic Blacwikkett, before posting here... You can read all my stuff in my signature.. I'm saying that the problem maybe flats taken at 0 gain because when i try to experiment 0 gain on my CMOS i obtained this final stacked i...

Flats and mottling pattern in final stacked image

Last time i used Sharpcap Pro i did a normal live stacking session, i took a 20 flat frames to have the final master flat: then i started live session with flat subtraction enabled, and my final stacked image was this, horrible, mottling pattern stacked_flat1.jpg stacked_flat.jpg So i decided to try...

Re: Dark and flat: checking live results during live stacking

Thanks, Robin. I thought that dark or flat correction is applied to final stacked image and not to every single frame. So when i will do the next test, i start a live stacking with some settings (dark and flat on) and leave it unchanged until final stacked image has been saved. Then i restart a new ...

Dark and flat: checking live results during live stacking

Hi. Because i'm having some problems about good results with dark and flat calibration during live stacking, i was thinking about a possible error i did during my last test. While i was looking for a solution, i came accross this Robin's sentence "Once you have chosen your dark file it will be ...

Re: Do dark and flat frame work during live stacking?

Probably this njght i will do another test and i will post the results and all images robin asked to me.
But a question: is better to use rgb24 and save in .fit? Or raw16 and .fit? Or raw16 and .png? Or rgb24 and .png? I usually use raw16 and .png.

Re: Flat Frames with ZWO ASI294MC

IPPIU: Are you using SharpCap for Live Stacking with your dark and flat frames with your ASI294MC camera? Yes, i'm using it. But i have some problems: https://forums.sharpcap.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1479 With 3.2 version, it seems that dark and flat have no effect on final stacking. We are tr...
