Re: Focus star detection dispay
Awesome job, I guess I need to turn off the sequencer more often so I stay current with how the tools work manually.

Focus star detection dispay
I think moving the star count to a field that is always displayed during auto-focus would help highlight the importance of star count to new users. Currently it's hidden in the third tab in the bottom left. I also think having it color coded would take out some of the guess work. Maybe 0-25 stars wo...

Re: Is it possible with 3.3 to dither without guiding and no live stack?
1) Yes, it will work with or without dark/flats. 2) If you have "Saved all files except when dithering" selected it will save everything, even if clouds come and ruin your night. Ah ok, good to know. Thanks! For me it works better/more fun when using DeepSkyStacker, Siril and Photoshop. F...

Re: Is it possible with 3.3 to dither without guiding and no live stack?
Robin I never use the Live Stacking, so 2 questions if this scenario will work when using that with dither: 1) I now that you can save individual FITS files while live stacking, but does Live Stacking work without calibration files? 2) If a capture is refused by the Live Stacking (for example not e...

Re: Is it possible with 3.3 to dither without guiding and no live stack?
Hi Robin, I had downloaded the latest version of SC where you incorporated the ability to dither without guiding. I'm so new to dithering that I have several questions but first you might need to know the type of scope & camera I use: CPC 800 SCT (Altaz) and ZWO ASI183 C. Under SC settings > ha...

Re: Sharpcap 4 beta plate solving not centering correctly
This subject has come up recently on Cloudynights. I think there are currently two or three active threads on it.
Something you are using is set to Jnow vs J2000. If you're using EQmod that's probably your issue....set it to J2000.

Re: Live Stack vs. Start Capture
The files will be exactly the same regardless of capture mode. In live stacking the "save individual files except when dithering" option will give you the same output as Start capture. This assumes you have all other variables the same between the two such as pre-processing turned off and ...

Re: No Change After Upgrade to Pro!
The display histogram is on the right and is always active (even outside of live stacking). Live stacking has it's own histogram that offers more control than the smaller display histogram. The display histogram really just a small convenient reference to quickly check. With SC pro you can have the ...

Re: No Change After Upgrade to Pro!
Have you tried to use some of the pro features? Do you see a lightning bolt on the display histogram on the right? Many of the pro features are accessed through various menus so the normal image capture screen would look about the same. Some differences would be small. The display histo lightning bo...

Re: Weighted Batch Pre-processing scripts in PI
I recently ran into this on WBPP with my 2600mc. You have to edit the FITS header under pixel size and debayer patter (at least with my 2600). Select a photo and then go to File>Fits header and scroll down to the lines you want to edit. If you have a mono I doubt you will have to edit the debayer pa...
