Also, many have had driver problems. If reinstalling the version still does not work, then try installing another version ... or asking on Cloudy Nights forum what specific version they used to get 450d working. And ... you need ASCOM to shoot RAW. You do not need ASCOM to shoot Jpegs. You can set E...

Robin ... I know I can shoot jpegs with DSLR and via the Monitored folder I can livestack jpegs (without any ASCOM drivers etc). Will the PA routine use the monitored folder as the source for the images?

Been watching and waiting on DSLR addition to SharpCap. It's a great idea to have a monitored folder idea ala Astrotoaster to bring in images for SC to stack etc. But Robin, I think you need to figure out how to get the live video in as well. sedonapete ... you are following up the polar alignment with a 'normal' one, two, three, four star alignment aren't you? Polar aligning just gets the ALT and AZ for the mount to be pointing right at the celestial poles ALT and AZ. Nothing else. It's internal object database which relies on RA and DE...

Hi, just joined the forum. Live in Brisbane Australia in very light polluted downtown townhouse complex so usually wait for no Moon or very little Moon to do anything. Practise EAA using ASI224 with SharpCap, and Canon EOS with Astrotoaster. Max I've ever shot is 60 secs preferring shorter exposures...
