Thanks guys! Dave, gain would be 36/54 so 67% and offset is 67/255 so 26%, hope this helps someway! Yes, PEC is awesome and the PECtool software with PHD2 used to capture it works well. I would like to do a comparison 30s frame livestack with PEC on and off to see if there is a noticeable effect. It...

Re: Record Focal Length with images

Hi Howard, that's really interesting about the 19% change due to the filter glass thickness! Also, nice creative way to insert a note into your capture file, I use an ASCOM filter wheel so I don't have that option...hmmm! :) I posted another thread about inserting a notes section for the live stack,...

Here you go Dave! :) Yes, unguided, used PHD2 to create a PEC curve with celestron's PECTOOL software using the scope itself to guide instead of a guide camera. Hi guys thanks for your comments :) I haven't yet tried the "brain" yet, I'm really looking forward to it as it seems awesome and very useful. I approach my targets a little different lately, I've set myself a 30 second challenge on every target and simply adjust the gain to compensate for...

Live Stack Notepad

I think it would be a pretty neat feature to be able to write something for your 'camerasettings' saved file :)

Re: Unguided dithering

That's great Robin, thanks, can't wait for 3.2! Also, i think, could be wrong, that an unguided dither will require less settling time than a guided dither. Doesn't the guided dither have to go through more downtime to recenter the star after the nudge? An unguided dither would just nudge and let th...

Re: Unguided dithering

Robin, thank you so much for your time, seriously! I've read through what you wrote in the script above and that is pretty much an unguided dither command! :) I know what you mean about the spiral search restarting, but the question is does it always restart in the same direction? e.g. does it alway...
