Hello and welcome

Which version of SharpCap are you using?
Also, could you describe what is happening?

Re: Preview Release 4.1.11890

can someone send me a private message regarding how to post a question on this forum? I just joined and frankly, can not find a way to post a new question. I am having a problem with SharpCap just downloaded. There is no view of my target in the live view, or quick capture. I am desperate to get he...

Re: NGC 7129 in NIRGB, NIR and RGB

Hi Tim As I understand it, these MHO objects mentioned in that article are only (or mostly) showing in NIR. They knew about HH objects in visual and Ha but they discovered HH objects in NIR that were surrounded by dust. That is at least what I understand from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbig%E2%...

Re: Two Monitor View

Hello and welcome

You mention you use SharpCap 4.0.9538.0. There is a new version now (4.1) where a lot of things have changed and updated.
Could you try and install the latest version and see if that fixes your problem?
It can be found on https://www.sharpcap.co.uk/sharpcap/downloads

Re: Excessive Star Glow

The backfous distance is something else than focus. It's the distance between scope/lens and the camera sensor where best overall focus can be reached (please someone correct me if I describe it wrong/weird :) ). So, your lens can be too far or too close to the camera sensor but the Bathinov can sti...

Re: Excessive Star Glow

I don't know if this is possible with this kind of lens, but it looks like a back focus issue?
The way you describe it, it looks like the lens is a bit too close to the camera sensor.

Re: M57 Ring nebula and its faint outer shell (HaRGB)

Thanks Nick :)
Here it really is very bad for over 8 weeks now. There were some clear nights but (of course) in a week where I was doing some sailing races here.
But it's getting colder here now, so here is hoping :)

Re: Flats on my 9.25 hd sct

HI I had issues like this in the past when I started. What helped to get good flats and calibrated stacks, was to use the same settings for the flats as the subs except the exposure time. So for example when capturing my subs with Gain 120, Offset 10 , my flats have those same settings and I alter t...

Re: Data suggests need for some Flat post-processing

Hi Chris Question: do you capture your flats during capturing? So with a cooled camera? I ask because that pattern looks like you have ice forming on you sensor. This can happen in multiple forms. When it happens like this, you almost don't notice it in your subs but it will on flats. You can check ...
