Hi Tim As I understand it, these MHO objects mentioned in that article are only (or mostly) showing in NIR. You mention you use SharpCap 4.0.9538.0. There is a new version now (4.1) where a lot of things have changed and updated.
Could you try and install the latest version and see if that fixes your problem?

It's the distance between scope/lens and the camera sensor where best overall focus can be reached (please someone correct me if I describe it wrong/weird :) ). I don't know if this is possible with this kind of lens, but it looks like a back focus issue?
The way you describe it, it looks like the lens is a bit too close to the camera sensor.

Here it really is very bad for over 8 weeks now. There were some clear nights but (of course) in a week where I was doing some sailing races here.
