Re: date and time in camera settings file

Hi, StartCapture is the estimated start time of the first frame that is in the capture file. This is estimated by taking the time that SharpCap receives the frame and subtracting the exposure length from it, so no account is taken of how long it might have taken to transfer the frame from the camera...

Re: Distorted AVI files

Hi,

it's not something I have seen before (or at least I don't think I have). Could you post a screenshot showing the distortion (and ideally, if you can share one of the problem files via Google Drive, DropBox or OneDrive etc, I could take a closer look).

cheers,

Robin

Re: Plate solve error with new driver Ioptron CEM120

Hurrah!

I strongly suspect that the new ASCOM library (which replaces the default ASCOM platform code, and adds support for things like Alpaca) works around whatever the original issue was that we couldn't work out.

clear skies!

Re: Suddenly Sharpcap will only save to onedrive

Sorry to hear that you had to go that far - something had obviously made some pretty big changes to your Windows file settings at some point if they were that hard to get back to normal :(

cheers,

Re: Creating Master Darks from Individual dark frames

Hi, yes, it involves a bit of fiddling around, but you can do this using the 'Folder Monitor' virtual camera. This acts like a camera in SharpCap but gets the images from a series of image files in a folder, rather than from a real camera. In this way you can apply any normal SharpCap action (like m...

Re: SharpCap 4.1 Beta Update - 10th January 2023

Hi Don, those errors are odd - I can see enough detail to know that they look like a networking error not being handled correctly, but there is nothing to point to where the error is coming from. In particular, there's no trackback to any particular code in SharpCap. I have reviewed all the places t...

Re: Suddenly Sharpcap will only save to onedrive

Hi Peter, yes, a read only folder would cause problems becauser SharpCap cannot write its test file (and would not be able to write the capture files anyway). Normally you should be able to remove that in Windows Explorer (right click on the folder, choose properties, unselect 'read only'). cheers, ...

Re: Can't select Dark Flats Option

Hi,

yes, I agree that the use of the existing dark doesn't always make sense - I have added a notification to SharpCap 4.1 to explain why the dark/bias options are disabled.

cheers,

Re: Licenza SharpCap 3.2

Hi, if your license code is still valid then you can recover the code here : https://store.astrosharp.co.uk/Recovery - just enter the email address used to purchase the license and you will get the code re-sent to you. Note that most licenses only last for one year, so if you bought your license a l...

SharpCap 4.1 Beta Update - 10th January 2023
