Re: End of sequence after meridian flip
Hi Eric, interesting - I think that the message and the yes/no choice was coming from your ASCOM driver, since that SharpCap doesn't contain a message that asks you to confirm a meridian flip. Fron SharpCap's point of view, nothing really went wrong until about 1:24 when PHD2 lost guiding and could ...

Re: Rotation in the 3rd stage of polar alignment
Hi, well, that log didn't seem to have the constant drift in the solve co-ordinates during the periods when SharpCap was waiting for you to move on to the next stage, so I think something must have been working better. It's perfectly OK to run the polar alignment with tracking turned off - you are a...

Re: Allow different +RA and -RA rates in Feature Tracking
Hi, no worries - I have made some code changes to allow the new idea to be tested out in the next version subject to using a command line parameter to enable it. We had some clear skies and a crescent moon last night, so I tested feature tracking calibration against the moon. I was using 1800mm foca...

Re: Last used camera settings not restored
Hi Eric, I've had one other report of this issue, but so far have not managed to get to the bottom of it (I can't break it in my testing). To dig further into this, I'd need a SharpCap log of the camera being opened with the following options in the 'Logging' settings ticked before opening the camer...

Re: Webcam with exposure longer than 1s?
Hi, to be honest, I think that all consumer webcams are probably going to limit you to about 1/16s exposure, as they are designed for live video imaging rather than longer exposures. The closest I can suggest is to look at 'board cameras' - not a consumer grade webcam, but from the PC point of view ...

Re: ZWO ASI 294MM issue
Hi Thomas, anything intermittent like this might be down to issues with USB communication between the camera and the computer. As a first set of troubleshooting , try the steps outlined in the 'Troubleshooting USB issues' guide - see https://forums.sharpcap.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=349&p=1...

Re: Drift Graphs and PEC
Hi Geoff, I think that your analysis is spot on - this looks exactly like periodic error in RA movement (and the direction matches up with the orientation of the camera). The lack of any significant drift in the dec direction and no signifiacant rotation indicates that your polar alignment is pretty...

Re: Histogram window update becomes very slow in log mode
Hi Bill,
good to hear that the graphics driver update did the trick! I will know what to suggest if the problem comes up again now
cheers and clear skies!

Re: HDR imaging of eclipse
Hi Brian,
a very cool image - thanks for sharing. There are actually enough stars visible in it to plate solve the image (I tried on just the right hand side to exclude the zoom box on the comet and it worked!)
cheers,
Robin

Re: PHD2 could not begin guiding, state is LostLock
Hi, OK, I think I have found some more things I need to fix relating to how SharpCap commands PHD2 when there are problems with the guiding 1) PHD2 considers 'Lost Lock' to be still guiding, just not actually able to at the moment. That's why it wasn't happy when SharpCap sent it a 'Begin Guiding' c...
