Re: M31 First Image in a while
Thanks Robin / Menno was quite pleased how it turned out as it was the first go after a bit of a hiatus. Robin looked at the promotional videos by James Ritter their product expert for Affinity Photo 2.0 and there looks to be some interesting new features so will probably look to upgrade to it espec...

Autofocus and Backlash weirdness
Hi Robin, The Autofocus is now working with the extra points but I have a slight issue with backlash in the Autofocus routine, in sharpcap if I look at the focuser currently it is selected to none for backlash as per the image below. Focuser hardware.png When I run the built in Autofocus script it i...

Re: Auto Focus issue / bug ?
Hi Robin,
That would explain it as originally, I would have been more to the right so it would have had to probably move more steps were as on the refocus and subsequent attempts I just moved it 15000 steps to get it roughly in the middle of the 6 steps I had told it to do.
Cheers

Auto Focus issue / bug ?
Hi Robin, I installed the latest Sharpcap with the new larger step count option and set the auto focus routine to run 6 steps with 3 shots at each step and to move the focuser 5000 steps each time I started at 335000 steps and told it to focus in. Sharpcap duly moved the focuser and I had a nice cur...

Esatto and Focuser step count for Auto Focus
Hi Robin, I have an Esatto 4" focuser on my scope that moves 0.04 microns per step so even at 2000 steps it only moves 80 microns and subsequently it takes a long time to travel through the focus curve or depending on temperature to even get to it :) and it is very shallow as a curve. Would it ...
