Re: Sequencer question (as it relates to solar imaging)
Hi, so, the important question is whether the camera is in live mode or still mode when the problem happens... If the camera is in still mode then what you are seeing is expected - the camera will only take frames when requested, and will otherwise sit idle. If you are using still mode delibrately a...

Re: Sharpcap / Computer Crash when imaging a star
Hi, event 41 is just the system rebooting after an unexpected shutdown - it confirms that the system crashed but doesn't tell us why. I had another thought about this though... It would be worth monitoring the CPU temperature while working in case a temperature spike is forcing the shutdown. It's al...

Re: Some Observations using Live Stacking
Hi Mark, when you are live stacking and choosing to save the raw frames, those frames are saved exactly as they come off the camera, with no dark or flat frames applied - this allows you to perform a full reprocess later either using the same dark/flat used for live stacking or with alternative ones...

Re: Connecting Canon R100
Hi, in general, DSLR cameras are not supported directly by SharpCap, so there are two ways to get images from them into SharpCap * Use the ASCOM driver for DSLR cameras, which can work nicely for some, but is unreliable for others. There is a long thread on CloudyNights which is probably the best re...

Re: Sharpcap / Computer Crash when imaging a star
Hi, the immediate thing that comes to mind is : are you using the same power supply in both situations? Is the one being used outside powerful enough? It does sound like the computer is crashing when the CPU load goes up as SharpCap starts to process the image for focus detection. If the power suppl...

Re: Alnitak Flip-Flat
Hi, I suspect that SGP has added direct support - it looks like the command set for the serial link to the device is documented here : https://condorarraytelescope.org/static/pages/pdf/manuals/OPT-0102.pdf It would be so much more elegant if they had made an ASCOM driver for the device :( I presume ...

Re: The Flats Capture routine...
Hi Mark, if you have a filter wheel connected and the 'Filter to use for dark captures' in the SharpCap hardware settings has been configured then SharpCap will automatically switch to that filter and capture the dark flats that way, without prompting. I think that is the most likely cause. If you d...

Re: Delete entries in ROI list
Hi,
yes, improving that is on my to-do list. I also want to change it so that the custom values are stored on a per-camera basis, rather than being shared between all cameras.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Settings retention
Hi Roger, that's odd. I have the same camera here, so I just tried with the very latest 4.1 and it seems to restore the black level fine for me. I presume you are using the 'auto restore camera settings' feature to get back to the last used settings - if so then a file will be stored on disk with th...

Re: When starting SharpCap
Hi,
you should now be OK to update to 4.1.11947, which fixes (hopefully) both the startup crash and the issue with the focuser buttons.
cheers,
Robin
