Hi,
check the 'Saving Settings' tab in the main SharpCap settings and set the preferred still file format there to TIFF. That preferred format gets used in some circumstances where there is no direct choice of file format available (capturing flat frames, etc).
cheers,
Robin

Re: Corona Mosaics
Hi, there is already an option to add a safety margin around the edge of the disc to ensure that no areas are lost if the alignment is a bit off. This can currently be increased to 500 pixels, which might be enough for your purposes (depending on pixel size/focal length/etc). If you think 500 pixels...

Re: FPS & Refresh Rate Requirements
Hi, if you can hit 60fps then that will be fine - SharpCap usually limits the display update to roughly 30fps anyway. It's worth noting that you should test with real, changing images, since remote desktop copes a lot better with a stable image than it does with one updating at high speed. Noisy ima...

Re: Polar Alignment 4.1 64 bit bug
Hi Randy, thanks for sending over the correct log so quickly. That reveals that the very likely cause of the issue was a bad plate solve on the image once the mount had been rotated. From the log Info 20:32:52.993482 #17 First frame solved : Solved=True, Pos=RA=13:54:57.1,Dec=+89:23:58, ViewRotation...

Re: Polar Alignment 4.1 64 bit bug
Hi Randy, sorry to hear it misbehaved for you. This isn't something I had expected as I have deliberately waited about 6 months after the initial release of SharpCap 4.1 before sending out the auto-update invite to 4.0 users recently... The idea was that any serious problems should have surfaced and...

Re: Sharpsolve data for Polar alignment?
Hi Steve, right now it doesn't use the SharpSolve data - the main reason is that there is another blocking issue with going further than about 6-7 degrees from the pole. Once you get that far out, you can no longer ignore the curvature of the celestial co-ordinate system, meaning that the calculatio...

Re: Alnitak Flip-Flat
Hi,
Ah, it's a cover calibrator driver. SharpCap doesn't support those yet, but I should be able to add support in the future. Right now I have a busy month coming up with an Astro show to attend and a talk to give, but after that I will have a look at adding support.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Does SharpCap support the following FLRI Blackfly camera?
Hi, it should support Blackfly cameras, but I have never had that particular model to test. Spinnaker SDK cameras are not supported. If you have the camera already, the best thing to do is try it. You will need to install the 'flycapture' software to get the right driver support for the cameras, and...
Re: ZWO EAF
Hi, if you are seeing nothing to choose except 'None' then you probably need to install the following software * Ascom Platform version 6.6SP2 - https://ascom-standards.org/Downloads/Index.htm * ZWO EAF ASCOM Driver - https://www.zwoastro.com/software/ Once both of those are installed (and you have ...

Re: Nifty Way to Star Align Skywatcher Mounts
Hi Bill, thanks for sharing - there was a previous discussion on here about that script a few months back, but at that point it worked on SharpCap 4.0 and was broken on SharpCap 4.1 because of some changes in SharpCap 4.1 python. That now looks to have been fixed (there are multiple versions in the ...
