Re: How to avoid an image with the bayer pattern?

Hi Dave, Thanks for the response. I have attached the AS!3 file (renamed with a .txt extension) and the SC camera settings. This was captured with my Evo 8 and ASI 294 MC at f10. Exp 5.4 ms, gain 243, Captured 500 frames and stacked best 10% RAW 16 and debayering was done in AS with Auto Detect. I t...

How to avoid an image with the bayer pattern?

Hello All, Here is an example for the output file I am trying to fix or, better yet, avoid altogether. It was captured in SC (I think .ser format), stacked and drizzled in AS!3 and sharpened in RS6. The camera was an ASI 294 MC and the pattern was present after stacking so Registax was not the cause...

Re: Dealing with vignetting

But it seems like you got good results with whatever settings you used to create your flats, so I'd be interested to learn about the settings you used. Thanks. Hi Robin, I made some new flats tonight and they worked well just like last time. Here is a screenshot of all the settings. Definitely had ...

Re: Dealing with vignetting

Hi Robin, Hmmm...Beginners luck for sure! I know I created a mono flat withOUT the bias checkbox checked. I think it is not checked by default. Brightness was set to 12. I adjusted the exposure to get the flat's histogram centered around 50%. I can't remember where it was but it was in the ms range....

Re: Dealing with vignetting

Hi Robin,
I have learned so much since I started this just 3 months ago and it is all because of people like you on these forums. Definitely want to give back as much as I can. BTW - I ordered the 50 mm Lunt. Looking forward to its arrival. Thanks for your help on that.

Re: Dealing with vignetting

Yes, it did. SharpCap is really great. Robin, I am also a software developer. I run a one-man show (www.raptormed.com) like I think you probably do or mostly do with SharpCap so I really appreciate what you have done. Great job. You have made astronomy accessible to so many that would otherwise neve...

Re: Dealing with vignetting

Huge success with flats to eliminate vignetting! I thought I would post this as I am sure others will find it useful. I captured a few flats at around dusk and restacked a few things for a test. The results were nothing short of amazing. Check out he Rosette Nebula. Both stacked for 2 minutes, 10 se...

Re: Dealing with vignetting

Wicket, Thanks for the reply. 1. The tip about the brightness is great. That is the one control that I haven't messed with and have sort of left it at the default. That will probably help alot as it seems like an over-brightness problem is really exacerbating the vignetting. 2. Yes, I was aware of w...

Dealing with vignetting

Hello, I seem to have a pretty severe vignetting problem that I don't recall having a few weeks ago. However, I am getting more adept at EAA and using SharpCap so it may simply be that I just notice things more now. In either case, the first image is the problem on full display and the second is a s...

Re: Creating dark frames

Hey Dave, Thanks for the responses. Those screenshots were sort of what I was expecting to see. Regarding the Hyperstar - should that even matter since theoretically, there should be no source of light at all? In fact, I was thinking I could just take the darks with camera not even hooked up to the ...
