Re: Field derotation
Hi, I can see that the rotation (plus a certain amount of drift by the look of things) has had a big effect there. Actually the rotation amount is quite large in this case - that either means that you spent a long time taking the image, or that you were imaging near the zenith, where the field rotat...

Re: darks, flats and dark flats
Hi,
I can see in the lower screenshot that you have not adjusted the display stretch to try to balance the image stretch against the new darker levels - do you get any sort of reasonable result when you do that?
cheers,
Robin

Re: QHY268 Image Size Issue
Hi, so the previous behaviour (SC 3.2) was that SharpCap ignored the overscan setup entirely - that had problems in other areas, so I tried to take account of overscan in 4.0 for still mode, but ended up with the problem you are encoutering that you must not mix live and still mode :( Essentially, t...

Re: Auto Focus with overshoot
Hi,
thanks for the further explanation on the ovreshoot idea - I will have a think about the best way to implement that sort of thing (and probably have a play with NINA to check I actually understand what is going on!)
cheers,
Robin

Re: Player One Neptune-m Camera not supported?
Hi,
SharpCap doesn't include a Windows system level driver for the PlayerOne cameras (or any other brand of camera for that matter) - you have to install those yourself as well as installing SharpCap.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Sharpcap as Admin and EQMOD stops
Hi, the best guideline here is rule 1... 'Don't run anything as administrator' :) If you *have* to break rule 1 and run something as administrator then apply rule 2... 'Run everything as administrator'. The background is that Windows is fussy about communications between admin and non admin programs...

Re: Plate solve issue
Hi, thanks for sharing the test image. I can see what is going on now - SharpCap is sending a RAW image to the plate solving engine, which is strictly incorrect. Apparently it usually doesn't matter much in practice or I would have heard about this before now, but in your case the combination of sen...

Hi,
SharpCap will select the data that is appropriate for the currently in use camera automatically.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Field derotation
Hi, I guess in theory you must be able to work out the field rotation rate from the fact that you have an Alt-Az mount and the co-ordinates. Never actually looked into the math for it, but I expect it is out there somewhere :) This would be an interesting thing to include in the brain (I have plans ...

Re: Player One Neptune-m Camera not supported?
Hi Ben, it should work - I don't have a Neptune to test with, but both the Mars models I have work fine. Things to check : Does the camera show up in Windows device manager? If not then consider the following possibilities 1) Install the drivers for the camera from https://player-one-astronomy.com/s...
