Re: Eclipse Sequence Generator

Hi John, glad to hear that you were able to recover some of the images. Those two certainly look good. Take a close look at the 'monochrome' images - if you zoom in and see a chessboard pattern at the pixel levels then they are saved RAW colour images and the colour can be recovered by using the cor...

Hi Steve,

thanks - I am downloading now and will take a look later today to see if I can work out what is going on.

Re: field rotation, live stacking

Hi, there is no automatic option to do the notification for you, but live stacking does have a drift graph tab which shows both the X/Y offsets of each frame on a scatter graph, but also the rotation of each frame. By watching this you could decide when the rotation had reached a suitable amount (sa...

Re: Show UCAC4 stars in the Deep Sky Annotation

Hi, yesterday I added some new scripting reachable code to allow this to be further refined. In the next update, there will be a SharpCap.DeepSkyAnnotation object available via scripting with the following methods/properties public interface IDeepSkyAnnotation { bool IsActive { get; } void Activate(...

Re: Eclipse Sequence Generator

Hi John, that's a rotten shame, sorry to hear it :( With hindsight it makes sense that the autoexpose function of the camera would be trying to balance the 'average' brightness of the image and perhaps end up bringing the levels up too high if there is a very small amount of bright area. Hope that s...

Re: Sequencer -> add Set Tracking Rate

Hi Thomas,

yes, you're right - in the drop down for the sequencer it just lists all the possible rates without checking with the mount. As you say, you will get an error if you choose a rate not supported by your mount.

cheers,

Robin

New Feature : Support for ASCOM Cover/Calibrator devices

Hi folks, hope that those who were at the eclipse had a successful day (looking forward to seeing photos). Now that everything is back to normal, I've released a new update for SharpCap (4.1.12025) and I've included some new stuff that I have held back for the last couple of weeks to avoid any risk ...

Re: Allow different +RA and -RA rates in Feature Tracking

Hi Mike, I'm going to guess that the movement in the direction of tracking was probably the fast one and the opposite movement was slow (good to have that confirmed though). Was the backlash compensation done in software or by making hardware adjustments to the mount (adjusting the worm bearings, et...

Re: Live Stack AVI crash.. Can the AVI file be repaired?

Hi Steve, can you share the broken file with me please? I know that the code assumes that the frames are evenly spaced in the file, but maybe on very large AVI files that assumption breaks down? I would need to investigate to see if I can see what's going wrong and potentially find a way to fix it. ...
