Re: ORION NEBULA at 1,000 frames of 1 second exposures
Thanks for your comments. I started somewhat late that evening when Orion Nebula was around 50 degrees latitude, causing a degradation of the image due to the balcony above. I live in a high-rise and when I photograph celestial objects on my balcony I am limited to 55 degrees or so in latitude. Usin...

ORION NEBULA at 1,000 frames of 1 second exposures
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50883104001_7a19c9a9fa_w.jpg Orion Nebula up close taken on January 23, 2021. I took 17 minutes of exposures (1000 frames of 1 second each) which would be considered very short. Note, the Trapezium (four stars) can be seen when zoomed in. Hardware: CPC 800 SCT 8&...

Re: MARS using 5X focal extender
Hi Tim, I exposed the image for 2.5 minutes at approximately 120 frames per second giving me about 18,000 frames. I took 50% of that total in AutoStakkert3 which yielded 9,000 frames. The QHY5IIIColor is a very fast frame rate CMOS camera with a large 5.86 micron pixel size which is useful for plane...

Guess the name of this large Lunar Crater with its central peak?
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50680403586_6a56034231.jpg Taken on Oct 30, 2020 of the lunar southwest limb As you approach the limbs of the moon, the central peaks of large craters can be better viewed on their sides which gives you a good perspective of their heights, as seen in this photo. ...
Re: Saturn
One of the reasons for the enhanced detail, especially the rings around Saturn, was the use of "deconvolution " in the Astra Image program. I now use it for all my planetary images to bring out that final detail.

Re: SharpCap ADC Alignment
Hi Robin Thanks for your explanation. Just for clarification, the lower left graft show basically the same length of arrows throughout but the only difference lies in the length of the vertical bars as we move towards the left part of the graph, even though the arrows look slightly longer and less s...
