Re: Making longer flat exposures with ASI294MC Pro: ADU or histogram?
Hi All, I've been using the ASI294MC Pro for quite a while now, almost exclusively with SharpCap and live stacking. I've done extensive testing and have found a quick repeatable process for creating flats via the SC flats tool. I make sure to have the smart histogram on and aim to get the simulate l...

Re: New Person Question: Successful Polar Alignment- Next Step?
Hi Brian1973, If you unlocked the clutches of the RA axis while you where polar aligning to complete the 90 degree rotation. You'll now need to set your mount back to zero position. For most mounts this is RA centered with counter weight down scope up. The reason your go to was so far off was the mo...

Re: Can't Plate Solve with Hyperstar
Hi Jimmy James, The information you shard is true. You're not changing any FOV settings but have in effect changed the FOV of images captured with Hyperstar. You now need to make sure your AstroTortilla install has the correct index files to cover the wider FOV. You'll need to run the installer for ...

Re: Imaging Jupiter: Lots of dots in my images
Candiman, Bortle 5 is fine but was more referring to seeing conditions or atmospheric turbulence. Here's some astronomy weather sites that provide information. https://www.astrospheric.com/ https://clearoutside.com/ https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/outdoorsports/seeing To share the .ser file you...

Re: Imaging Jupiter: Lots of dots in my images
Hi Candieman, First thing I'd say is verify your focus on a star with whatever you normally use. Next I'd verify seeing at your observing location. Last I'd ask if you would share the SER file and give us a crack at processing your data. This is the quickest way to get a sanity check on your process...

Re: Poor contrast and color in sharpcap vs ASI Studio
Hi eschmitt You can load images for stacking from the camera menu choose "Folder Monitor Camera." Once open in the camera control panel on the right side under camera controls select "Browse" next to source folder. Navigate to a folder that contains the files you want to stack. T...

Re: Can't Plate Solve with Hyperstar
Hi jimmyjames Which plate solver were you using prior to Hyperstar installation? Have you updated your index files for the plate solver to include the wider field of view the Hyperstar provides? Assuming you're using a plate solver that has individual index files. A relatively new plate solver addit...
