Re: New to Sharpcap and it's polar alignment

Thanks to both of you for your replies. I did get the program to work, but had to install Astrotortilla et. al. Astrotortilla is only necessary if you're going to plate solve (which is separate from Polar Aligning). If you're going to use Plate Solving, I'd recommend turning the mount on before sta...

Re: Easiest Plate solve program for non-computer guy to set up?

I can verify that Astrotortila just has to be installed. It works fine with my setup and Sharpcap.

Re: ASI294MC

M42 was a CN challenge to see how much nebulosity you could capture and still resolve the trapezium.

Here is a processed Flame/Horsehead with Startools and Photoshop:

Re: Zoom Feature

I'd like to see a zoom like Starlight Live has. With Starlight Live, you can use the mouse to select a square, which then gets zoomed. A right click with the mouse restores it to the normal view. It's very handy and quick for focusing with a Bahtinov mask as you can just click around the star you're...

Re: Newbie needing help with M31

As for M110 & M32, I think you'll need a wider field of view, so either a small, fast telescope, a focal reducer or a much larger sensor on your camera. Here is M31/M32/M110 in one image using an Orion 50mm Guidescope. You can see how far away they are (hover your mouse over the image to see the...

M42 with ASI224MC

Done on a Celestron 130SLT (Alt/Az) and an ASI224MC with Sharpcap Pro 3.1 Beta. The software is performing well for me. Platesolving works great and is super fast (usually less than 10 seconds). My computer is a Intel ComputeStick (2nd gen) 2gb ram/32gb storage with 64gb sd card. (42x8s) Initally ra...

Stopping a plate solve

How do I stop a plate solve after it's gone too long? It seems to keep running. Clicking the "X" on the notification bar (where it's telling me what index it's using) doesn't seem to stop it, nor does hitting the "Stop" button in the plate solve section. I just keeps running thro...
