Hi,
I suspect you have ticked the 'Edit filename templates manually' checkbox further down, which enables advanced filename editing and disables all the checkboxes at the top which control what you might call 'simple mode'.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Plate solve error with new driver Ioptron CEM120
Hi Gianluca, thanks for the offer. I have a suspicion that the software protection that I use to try to keep people from hacking SharpCap may be interfering with similar protection used by the new iOptron driver. For unrelated reasons I made some changes in the way SharpCap does this in 4.0.9357 (up...

Re: ROI suggestions
Hi folks, yes, you can do this - try the following... 1) choose a smaller ROI and get the planet in view 2) Choose 'feature tracking (experimental)' from the tools menu 3) Choose 'Use camera ROI' for movement and 'Use center of mass' for tracking. 4) Press 'Monitor' to start tracking the center of t...

Re: ASI2600MC Success
Hi Roger, thanks for sharing the data - the figures you have look pretty much identical to the published ones - I guess the data samply I have was a bad measurement in some way. You are quite right - the maximum number of electrons that you can measure without saturating is about 17000 at gain 100 -...

Re: Where is Custom Capture Area for ASI294MM?
Hi, Right now custom resolutions are not available for the 294MM because of the extra complexity introduced by the two read modes of 11 and 47 megapixels. I will note down this request to fill this functionality gap - I just had a quick look and unfortunately it's not as easy to do as I hoped, but d...

Re: QHY10 cooler power setting
Hi Denny, sorry to hear about the problem with the cooler power. I'm afraid I don't have a QHY10, so I don't know for sure how the cooler might perform when the camera is activated in SharpCap. I have just tested with a different QHY cooled camera (174GPS) and during initialization, SharpCap sends c...

Re: Sharpcap Sequence Platesolve Step Coordinates Creep
Hi, good to hear that we are getting closer :) I have seen cases where the RA co-ordinate wobbles between two different values like the 00:48:40 and 00:48:41 that you saw. I think that is down to rounding errors in the ASCOM driver code, since the RA value comes from the combination of the RA axis p...

Re: Focus assistant?
Hi,
those entries are just headings to group the different tools according to the uses they have - unfortunately there isn't really a good way to put headings in menus, so I used greyed out entries, which is a bit non-standard.
cheers,
Robin

Re: SharpCap doesn't fully cool my camera
Hi Tony,
that's an unexpected result
I suspect that it isn't the energy of the light itself (which will be really small), but perhaps the extra work done by the electronics on the camera when it has some significant signal to report rather than a nearly black frame.
cheers,
Robin
