One last point - this only impacts the collections of dark frames ( and perhaps flats, I've never tried). Sharpcap running the camera in the Pipeline mode works for live stacking of images without dropping any (many) frames, including subtracting darks that I had previously captured.

Re: Crash capturing darks
Robin: I'll try another thing - reconfiguring my system so that only the camera is attached to the PC and see if that makes a difference. At present I run the camera, the mount ( a Celestron ASGT or SLT mount) and the focuser (JMI through a shoestring astronomy FCUSB device) through a powered USB hu...

Still experiencing system lock up when trying to capture darks. But now I figured out where the log files are kept - attached is a c...

Re: Crash capturing darks
Well, the new software was two steps forward, 3 back ! I did a reinstall of their drivers and capture software (basically ToupSky rebranded), and now 1) their software recognizes the camera, but doesn't display any image 2) Sharpcap now locks up completely when I attempt to capture darks. It doesn't...

Re: Crash capturing darks
I'm using a Rising Tech IMX224. I thought I was using the latest, but found out that they issued a new set of software over the summer. I'll give that a go and get back to you.
