narrowband filter effect on focusing and plate solving
Greetings: I am considering purchasing a dual narrow band filter (optolong l-extreme) to use on emission nebulae. Am wondering if the reduction in star light through this filter will make plate solving and focusing functions in sharpcap much more difficult. Does anyone have experience with this scen...

Re: individual raw image format while livestacking
thanks for the reply but I believe if you select png output format on the right side column under capture format and area, all of the raw files will be saved as png while livestacking. I think this may be the default setting. But from what you have just said sounds like I can set it for fits format ...

individual raw image format while livestacking
Greetings, Can the raw individual files be saved in the fits format while livestacking or are they automatically saved as png files. If they can be saved as fits files, would this affect the time it takes for livestacking to align and stack the files? I would like to save individual files as 16 bit ...

Tried restarting it several times but it always did this however it was actually saving the files in png. I tried ...

neutral settings for capturing
Wish to know best settings in sharpcap for getting the most "raw images". Have been told white balance should be set to 50. What about brightness, should it be set to zero? Are there other settings that affect the "rawness" of the images. Would setting everyone to auto be the bes...

Re: do livestack controls affect raw images?
Thank you for the reply. So does this mean that the controls on the right such as white balance, brightness, etc should be set on auto in order to get a raw image for the individual frames?
