Hi Randall,
happy for beta bug reports to go in either the beta forum or the bug reports forum. Good luck with the clear skies!
cheers,
Robin

Re: Best Method to Change Live Stack Target
Hi, glad to hear that you like the look of the GOTO tool - I will investigate the bug report to see what is going wrong. I think that you are right that if you are coming from a more classical AP background then the way that live stacking just starts may feel wrong, but as a beginner tool, the fact ...

Re: Quark Chromo UV/IR cut
Hi Les,
yep, the cardboard box trick is a good one, although I still prefer the 'go indoors and remote control the PC option' I am even working on designing a remote control motorized flat frame gadget that will allow me to put the flat panel in place and remove it remotely!
cheers,
Robin

Re: Forced to log in when submitting post
Hi,
do you tick the 'Remember Me' button when logging in? If that is ticked you should stay logged in to the forums for months at a time without needing to log back in again. That's certainly how it is supposed to work.
cheers,
Robin

Re: Auto Debayering in PixInsight
Hi, glad to hear that it is now working OK. Hopefully the change will be positive for everyone! I suspect you are right about the headers, maybe indirectly via Fortran code standards (which were heavily influenced by punched cards and Fortran was used extensively in scientific computing - probably s...

Re: Best Method to Change Live Stack Target
Hi Randall, closing live stacking is just a matter of either pressing the 'Live Stack' button again on the toolbar or using the 'X' close button at the top right of the live stacking work area. Yes, you can definitely use SharpCap now to move to new targets. It doesn't show a skymap like Stellarium ...

Re: Best Method to Change Live Stack Target
Hi Randall, well first I will put in a plug for SharpCap 4.1... In SharpCap 4.1 the 'Goto Catalog Target/Co-ordinates' tool will take care of this for you - if you are stacking M31 and you tell it to go to M42 then (providing you check the box to 'start a new stack') the tool will * Save the current...

Re: Using SharpCap in a paper on a test device for time-domain astronomy
Hi Christian,
very interesting - thanks for crediting SharpCap in your paper! (I found that the Arxiv link let me download and read the PDF - the other just gave me the abstract).
cheers,
Robin

Re: Help for ASI533MC and MaximDl
Hi Carlo, this is pretty normal - most modern colour cameras have a high green sensitivity compared to the other two colour channels (check the sensitivity curves on manufacturer web sites and you will see the peak in the green area of the spectrum). In SharpCap you may well be using the live stacki...
